Email Marketing Tips

Posted By: Matt Gaines on March 31, 2010 at 7:39 pm

Using email is a great way to market and promote your e-commerce business. With people being so busy and getting junk mail, how do you make your email stand out?

Here are some helpful tips to get you the most benefits from this effective marketing tool. It is important to do some research and attempt to get your marketing sent to a target market that will likely be interested in the products or services you are offering.

Some companies randomly send emails to people who have absolutely no interest in what is being advertised. You will get a very low response from such marketing methods. If your website asks for consumer information including an email address, be very respectful.

Ask if they are interested in receiving e-mail advertisements and promotions. If they choose not to then don’t add them to your data base for marketing by email. Make sure you have the permission of the consumer to send them such materials. You are required by law to include an opt out link in the event the consumer no longer wants to receive such emails from you.

Statistics show Tuesday and Wednesday are the most effective days to send out marketing emails. Send them out in the morning so that individuals have time to read them during breaks, lunch hours, and in the early evening. You might have a lot of information to pass on to the target market, but keep your email short and to the point. Most internet users like to go through their emails quickly.

If yours is lengthy it may get deleted or saved to be read later. You want the consumer to be able to read it as soon as they click on it and get all the information. Make sure you have hyperlinks that take consumers immediately to your website if they are interested. Internet users are not patient. Most will not wait longer than five seconds for your website to appear.

It is important to test your marketing email in the various email programs including Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, and AOL because they all work differently. Your graphics and pictures may be distorted in particular email programs. Read More »

Helpful Hints To Help Avoid Writer’s Block!

Posted By: Matt Gaines on March 21, 2010 at 4:08 pm

I know this happens to me from time to time. Here are 5 suggestions to help you break the writer’s block dilemma, enjoy the article and I hope it helps!

Writer’s block is a misnomer. If a writer had a block in front of them, they would have something to write about. But, all the same, it is hard to get the creative juices flowing from time to time.

Here are a few ways that you can avoid this situation. What is really going on when you can’t write? It could be a variety of things that are vying for your attention that are more exciting at the time than sitting down and pecking out a story on your computer.

Writing looks like a lot of fun, but it is actually hard work that begins with a great attitude.

 1. Psych yourself out. If you are tired, that will overrule any thoughts of writing. Get yourself in the mood to write by thinking about all of the benefits of getting your articles written right now. For one, you won’t be pushed for time later when you really want to have fun.

What do you do when you finish a writing project? Maybe you go for ice cream or spend the entire day watching your favorite movies. Think about how much sooner you can do these things if you get to work right now.

 2. Set yourself up for success. Dedicate a section of your home to be your writing area. It could be the table in the dining room or a desk in the den.

Wherever it is, design the workspace to be conducive to writing. Don’t do anything but write in that space. That way, when it is time to write, you have a place to go that inspires your writing genius.

3. Accept imperfection. Do you think that all of the famous writers out there became so with their first draft? The first draft is always about getting all of your ideas down on paper.

Don’t try to wear the editing hat and the writing hat at the same time. It stifles your work. Instead, be happy with run-on sentences, notes in the margins and grammatical errors. You can always clean it up later.

4. Do more research. If you are having a tough time coming up with what to say, dive back into the research mode and find more information on your subject.

The information you have is alright but maybe you are missing that one element that will make your article pop off the page with your readers. You can never do too much research anyway. It just gives you more to work with for future articles.

5. Take a meditation break. Maybe you are anxious about writing your article. Will it be well received? Do I have what it takes to be a writer? All of these thoughts can cause you to end up with a blank creative slate.

Take a minute to relax your mind before setting to work. Are you hitting the proverbial brick wall when you sit down to write?

Try these ideas to get those articles written even when you don’t think that you can do it.

If you need content for your blog, articles or what ever, I am giving months of free content away, plus 3 reports for Twitter, StumbleUpon, and copywriting in my newsletter. Sign up for free over in the top right hand corner right now.

4 Ways To Get Your Opt In Subscribers To Trust You Quickly!

Posted By: Matt Gaines on March 17, 2010 at 9:39 am

While the rest of the world have developed many barriers and protections to keep their e-mail accounts spam-free, there are also those that subscribe to emails lists that promotes the same products and services as you do.

These subscribers want to know more about what your site is offering and how they can benefit from what you are teaching. They expect to be kept posted on what they are interested in and what is new in the market they have chosen.

Then there the other types of subscribers that opt-in to a list because they want information on how to do a specific task or to check out a product or service that you are promoting. This is the type of newsletter or list you need to develop in what ever niche you are going in to. Informational Newsletter Is Key!

Businesses would be so lucky to have these kinds of customers; the basic elements needed to get these types of people is trust. When your customers trust you they will reward you with their loyalty.

You must be able to give your subscribers true value with the information you provide in your Newsletter. Teach them something cool. Show them how to monetize what you have taught them. Be true and honest at all times. And then achieve your goal, what ever that may be.

Now here is one of the problems with email. Many internet users have gone to great lengths in protecting their email accounts from spam mail. Some free email internet providers and internet service providers offer spam protection while there are also some internet based companies that screen your mails for you.

With an opt-in mail list (I would recommend Double opt-in), the emails you send containing your promotional materials such as newsletters, catalogs and marketing media will go through. Your intended recipient will be able to read and view what you have sent making it a successful transfer of information.

To be able to be allowed to do so, you will need permission from your recipient, to get this permission; you need to be able to get their trust. With the great lack of disregard for privacy in the internet, getting the trust of an internet user you don’t personally know is a big achievement.

To build a good opt-in list you need people to trust you, for a faster and quicker build up, you need to get your opt-in subscribers to trust you quickly. The faster you build your opt-in list the faster word about your site and company gets to be spread around the net.

The bigger the scope of your opt-in list the more traffic you get means more profits. Its easy math if you think about it. Getting the numbers is not that simple though, or maybe it is? Read More »

Blogging For Cash!

Posted By: Matt Gaines on March 3, 2010 at 10:04 pm

Believe it or not, but it’s actually possible to make money from blogging. One teenager has, in fact, earned $5,000 a month just from making posts on his blog! Of course, not every blogger is this lucky. It does take some skill, and some luck to make money from blogging.

What it also takes is some knowledge of how exactly to generate income just by posting blogs. In this Post, I will go over three specific methods of making money on your blog: Adsense, Pay Per Lead, and Affiliate Links.

So how exactly do I make money on my blog?

You do it by working with another company that wants to use your blog as a form of advertising. It sounds like selling out, right? Not exactly. The advertising can be as in your face or subtle as you want. And it can still make you money, provided you have enough visitors to your blog.

What is Adsense?

Adsense is a program offered by Google. The program, if installed, will display ads provided by Google.

How do I get Adsense?

You’ll need to go to Google.com, first. At the bottom of the screen is a link for “Advertising Programs”. Click on that. Then click on the link for “Adsense”. Scroll down on the page that comes up and click “Click Here To Apply!”

You then fill out the form with information about yourself. After 12-48 hours, Google will notify you via email whether or not your site has been accepted. When you’ve been accepted, set up your ads by doing either of the following:

1. If your blog is hosted on Blogger.com, you can set up your AdSense ads by going to your profile, selecting settings>template>add an element. Then select AdSense and login with your account info. Next, you’ll configure your ads and save the template. That’s it.

2. If you are self-hosting your blog, you’ll have to set up AdSense in more of a manual way. You’ll create your ads(which can be as small or as tall as you want) and then copy the HTML/Javascript code Google gives you. Then you’ll paste it into your blog (on the left, right, or top of the screen).

For the first few days, the ads displayed by Google will be Public Service Announcements. After the ads have been up a few days, though, the ads will switch to ads that are relevant to your blog.
